From Reluctance to Results: What Our Recent Tender Successes Taught Us

By Sebastian Mann, Commercial Director, Voltix Services

In the last quarter of 2025, I joined Voltix at a pivotal moment. Within my first few weeks, the business was already deep into three live commercial tender applications. Historically, Voltix had taken a cautious approach to tenders. Like many facilities maintenance providers, we viewed them as resource-intensive, highly competitive and often unrewarding.

However, growth requires change.

We decided to challenge our assumptions and commit fully to the process. The result was clear: Voltix won two out of the three tenders. For a business that had never prioritised tenders, this was a significant milestone and a powerful validation of our capabilities in facilities maintenance.

Why we changed our approach to tenders

Tenders demand operational maturity and a proven service model. They require robust maintenance processes, compliance systems, health and safety policies and clear continuity plans. Many organisations see tendering as a paperwork exercise, but we approached it as an opportunity to demonstrate the quality, reliability and consistency of Voltix’s services.

Our goal was not just to submit documents, it was to demonstrate how we keep buildings and assets operational, safe and compliant every day.

A genuine team effort

Winning tenders is never the work of a single department.

Our engineers and site teams provided technical input from live facilities. Project managers built clear service delivery plans. Compliance and operations ensured policies, accreditations and maintenance frameworks were in place. Marketing and sales shaped messaging, presentations and positioning, while our leadership team aligned commercial strategy with long-term delivery.

This collaboration allowed us to present Voltix as a credible, reliable and accountable facilities maintenance partner, demonstrating expertise and care across every stage of the tender process.

The outcome and what it represents

Winning two out of three tenders is more than a commercial success, it confirms that clients value a partner they can trust to maintain critical infrastructure, manage compliance and support operational continuity.

It validates the investment we have made in people, systems and processes. More importantly, it demonstrates the strength of our team, who were able to coordinate site inspections, technical documentation, presentations and ongoing queries while maintaining day-to-day operations.

Now the real work begins

Tender success is only the starting point. These contracts bring real responsibility: maintaining operational buildings, protecting assets, ensuring occupant safety and delivering consistent service.

Our commitment is simple: to deliver on our promises every day. Safe, compliant and proactive maintenance, responsive problem resolution, clear communication and continuous improvement have always been the standards we uphold and the benchmarks we measure ourselves against.

Winning these tenders has reinforced what we already know: strong collaboration, clear processes and a focus on trust and service excellence are what make Voltix stand out in facilities maintenance.
